Senior trip to see elk is July 16

Jul 06, 2012

The Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department will offer a trip for seniors to see the Elk up close and personal  July 16. This is for everyone age 50 and above.

Participants will learn some of the  history of the area and have dinner while there. Everyone will need to bring their own dinner. It will also be a good idea to bring a folding chair. The benefits include fellowship and getting outside and seeing  natural surroundings.
The group hopes to see some young elk and maybe some baby elk. Bring cameras and binoculars to record the memories.
The group will leave the Waynesville Recreation Center at 2 p.m. and return by 9 p.m. The cost is $5 for members of the Waynesville Recreation Center or $7 for non-members.
Space is limited to the first seven to register. For more information or to register, call 456-2030 or email recprograms@townofwaynesville.org.
