North Carolina’s adoption of the Federal Food Code requires the presence of a “Person –in- charge” with food safety certification that can demonstrate food safety knowledge and active managerial control. ServSafe® certification will help establishments meet this requirement.
There will be two ServSafe® courses offered at the Haywood Extension Center in April and May. The course teaches participants how to implement cost effective and pro-active food safety practices in any operation. In this course, participants are trained and tested for ServSafe® Manager Certification. Each course is a two day course from 8:00am to 5:00pm with the test being administered on the second day. The first course will be offered on April 29th and May 1st and the second course will be May 13th and 15th. The cost of the course is $125.00.
