Three registered sex offenders are behind bars after detectives from the Haywood County Sheriff's Office found them violating the terms of the sex offender registry this week.

Every year during the week of Halloween, detectives make house calls to each of the 86 registered sex offenders in the county to verify their addresses.

“We do it around Halloween because we know that’s a night when the children will be out in mass knocking on the doors of strangers,” said Det. James Marsh.

During their annual holiday round up this week, they found three men who were not living at the correct address listed with the sheriff's office, which is a felony violation.

Among them were Reginald Robbs, 45, Larry Heyward and Joshua Haley, 32, all of whom were charged with failing to notify the sheriff's office after changing their address.
