Sheila Gordon and The Downtowners Perform New Year’s Eve at The Classic Wineseller
Waynesville, NC - The Classic Wineseller will host a New Year’s Eve dinner and show featuring Sheila Gordon and The Downtowners on Tuesday, December 31 at 7:00pm in the underground environs at 20 Church Street in Waynesville. The price is $49.99 per person plus tax and gratuity and includes an end-of-evening champagne toast.

Sheila Gordon has been playing piano and singing her way in to the hearts of thousands since she was a young girl. Earlier in her career, Ms. Gordon was the star attraction at a piano bar in Nashville, TN where she held the title for ten years. She has performed hundreds of concerts, recorded five albums, played with five bands, and has been a professional musician for 36 years. Sheila Gordon’s beautiful voice moves effortlessly between musical genres like blues, jazz, gospel, and popular music.
Alice Carroll is a talented art teacher, visual artist, designer, calligrapher, photographer, and conga player. She plays congas with the Downtowners and several other Jazz groups in the Knoxville, Tennessee area.
Keith Brown is the percussion professor and faculty chair in the Jazz Department at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He performs with Bowling, Brown, and Holloway, and with the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra. He has performed internationally at jazz festivals for both the University of Tennessee and for private events.
Dr. Allen Smith is a professional bassist who has performed for over 25 years in jazz and classical circles.
Dr. Bill Swann is Associate Professor of Music, Chair, Division of Fine Arts at Maryville University. He is a professional pianist, a talented composer, and member of the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra. He has performed with a number of professional musicians and ensembles including Jimmy Heath, James Moody, and The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and has released several albums including Awake But Somehow Dreaming (2002), One World Over (2004) and Three (2005).
The Classic Wineseller presents local, regional, and international artists up close and personal in a unique, intimate setting each Friday and Saturday night at 7:00pm.
