Sheriff's Office arrest briefs
The following is a listing of arrests made by the Haywood County Sheriff's Office from Aug. 24 through Sept. 3.
Deputies at the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested several people for drug charges while attempting to serve warrants on two suspects.
When they arrived at the home on Riverview Drive in Canton to arrest Jacob Kyle Brummett and Shawn Jason Shoemaker for stalking warrants, police saw three marijuana plants growing in pots on the porch.
Deputies charged Brummett, 19, for manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with a warrant for stalking.
He was jailed under a $2,500 secured bond.
Also arrested was 17-year-old Jessica Dacy Pauline Shoemaker, who was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christy Hooper Shoemaker, 43, and Joseph Andrew Shoemaker, 42, were each charged with felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a controlled substance. Joseph Shoemaker also faces a misdemeanor charge for having an untaxed alcoholic beverage.
On Aug. 29, Danny Wayne Frizzell, 43, of Anessa Kay Lane, Waynesville, was arrested and charged with two counts felony habitual driving while impaired and two counts habitual felon.
He was jailed under $84,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 17.
Brandon Scott Owenby, 31, of Scotts Drive, Clyde, was arrested Aug. 31 at Meadowlark Motel for felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.
He was jailed under $5,000 secured bond and is due in court Sept. 12.
Victor Michua, 22, of Ben Drive, Waynesville, was arrested Aug. 26 and charged with felony assault by strangulation. He also faces charges of misdemeanor battery of an unborn child and domestic assault on a female.
He was jailed without bond and is due in court Sept. 5.
Deputies arrested Natasha Schnell Bentley, 31, of Candler, and Kathleen Elizabeth Taylor, 44, of Wounded Knee Drive, Clyde, for three felony warrants each.
Both face charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entery and possession of stolen property.
Bentley was also charged with resisting an officer after she dropped pills from her person and swallowed them.
She was jailed under $11,000 secured bond.
Taylor was jailed under $10,000 secured bond.
Randy MacNeil Milner, 51, of Walnut Ford Road, Lake Junaluska, was arrested Aug. 24 for several drug charges after a traffic stop.
Milner was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Hydrocodone, a schedule II controlled substance. He was also charged with driving without a license.
He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 2.
On Aug. 27, Billy Darrell Owenby, 51, of Wounded Knee Drive, Clyde was charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen property — all felonies.
He was jailed under $9,500 secured bond and is due in court Sept. 12.

Aug. 24: James John Welch was charged with assault on a female and failure to appear in court.
Aug. 24: Angelena Marie Potter was charged with contempt of court, perjury and court violations.
Aug. 26: Clifford Lowell Lance was charged with being drunk and disruptive.
Aug. 26: Larry Eugene McCall III was charged with contempt of court, perjury and court violations.
Aug. 26: Amber Nicole Pressley was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 27: Jonathan Ray Fadler was charged with trespassing.
Aug. 28: Roy Lewis Banks Jr. was charged with contempt of court, perjury and court violations.
Aug. 28: Jerimy Dayne Dennis was charged with failure to appear in court and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 29: Nicholas Jack Ayers was charged with failure to appear in court and simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
Aug. 29: Rosie Brooke Gregory was charged with consuming alcohol under 21.
Aug. 29: Travis Scott Gaddis was charged with domestic violence protective order violation.
Aug. 29: Jason Matthew Sams was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Aug. 29: James A. Hooper was charged with failure to pay child support.
Aug. 30: Adele Corvette Rhinehart was charged with domestic misdemeanor stalking.
Aug. 30: Edwin Dwayne Barnes was charged with worthless check fraud.
Aug. 31: April Marie Dysinger was charged with contempt of court, perjury and court violations.
Aug. 31: Tobie Dwayne Hensley was charged with resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 31: Everette Randall Faulkner was charged with domestic assault on a female.
Sept. 1: Sawyer Michael Craven was charged with failure to appear in court.
Sept. 1: Caleb Matthew Jaynes was charged with trespassing.
Sept. 2: Daniel Ray McMahan was charged with failure to pay alimony.
Sept. 3: Jacob Lee Yon was charged with being drunk and disruptive.
Sept. 3: Kimberly Michelle Brown was charged with failure to appear in court.
