WAYNESVILLE — Shirley Arrowood Smith, 75, of Boulder Drive, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Autumn Care Nursing Home.

A native of Burnsville, she was the daughter of the late Elzie R. and Gladys Honeycutt Arrowood.  She worked as a self-employed realtor.  She deeply loved her family and was especially known for her culinary expertise and her resourcefulness.  Shirley was known for her craftsmanship, creating beautiful decoupage, home furnishing and clothing.  She was kind, compassionate, and always placed others’ needs before her own.  As an active member of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school director, youth group leader and a leader of Women of the Church.
