CLYDE — Eddie Singleton with the Clyde Police Department was recently sworn in as captain during a promotion ceremony Thursday evening.

Singleton began working as a part-time police officer in Clyde in August 2012 and was hired as a full-time officer in September 2013.

He became interim supervisor of the police department when former police chief Gerard Ball resigned from his position in January.

The Clyde Board of Aldermen voted to offer Singleton the promotion at their regular board meeting March 12.
