Skateboarders flock to new park
Dozens of skateboarders have been rolling on the ramps at Waynesville Skate Park since it opened last week.
The park has been open for use since Aug. 30.
The Waynesville Board of Aldermen passed on ordinance in June, which requires he use of a helmet, elbow pads and kneepads at the unsupervised park.
North Carolina state law requires any operator of a skateboard park that is not supervised on a regular basis to enforce the use of safety equipment and post signs affording reasonable notice.
