Small business financing seminar is Aug. 21
The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College and The Support Center will offer a free “Alternative Financing for the Small Business Owner” seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, on the first floor of the Student Center Auditorium at HCC.
The seminar is designed to help small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs understand how to access credit and capital for their businesses. During the seminar, attendees will learn the basic principles many lenders use to make credit decisions and resources available in North Carolina for small businesses. Lastly, the seminar will cover the options available through The Support Center.
The Support Center is a statewide nonprofit and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides small business loans and financial training to start-ups and existing businesses; and lending services to community-based organizations.
Since 1990, The Support Center has been offering services to create economic opportunities for individuals, families and entrepreneurs throughout North Carolina. Primary activities include Small Business Revolving Loan program, policy and research, and advocacy for community development credit unions.
