Smoky Mountain Model Railroaders open house
Clubhouse No. 13
130 Frazier St., Waynesville
Oct 05, 2013
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
At Haywood County's own O gauge Model Railroad Club's 1st OPEN HOUSE, come see our large three rail Lionel-type Model Railroad display layout. It depicts the beauty of these Western NC Mountains along with the scenery and structures common to rural America along the nation's railroads. Follow a vintage steam locomotive or an early diesel engine as it wends its way through bridges and trestles, a farm, a lumber mill and around a city nestled against the Smoky Mountains. You will also see modern locomotives as seen today at the Canton paper mill or on the nations vast railways pulling long freight trains.
Bring the whole family as the little ones will enjoy a wooden Thomas Train set to play with, and see the Polar Express as it zips around the snowy landscape.
Everyone is welcome to our gala event. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
The club is located behind Sagebrush at 130 Frazier Street in the industrial park. Unit No. 13.
We are open to new members of all ages — men/women/boys/girls.
Model Railroading is a wonderful hobby enjoyed by millions of people around the world!
