Smoky Mountain Oyster & Seafood Festival

The inaugural Smoky Mountain Oyster & Seafood Festival on Saturday at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds faired well for its first year.

The oysters and bluegrass music was flowing and the sun was shining.

Mobjack Bay Seafood Company was backed up with orders most of the afternoon and kept busy shucking raw oysters.

A silent auction was held during the event and a portion of the event proceeds will benefit Haywood Waterways Association.

Children enjoyed the petting zoo, face painting, hay toss, corn hole, Hula Hoops and Frisbees.
