Social Media Marketing Summit for small business owners is Oct. 27

The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College will offer a free Social Media Marketing Summit for small business owners on Thursday, October 27 on the HCC campus. The seminars will include “Using LinkedIn to Grow Your Small Business” from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in Library Computer Lab 206; “Instagram Made Easy” from 9 until 11:30 a.m. in Building 200, Room 203; “Facebook Made Easy” 1 until 3:30 p.m. in Building 200, Room 203; and “Tools for Social Media” from 4 until 6:30 p.m. in Building 200, Room 203.

This one-day summit is geared toward current and prospective business owners that are interested in getting more out of their social media experience. Learn how LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram can impact your marketing strategy; and valuable tools to assist in developing basic graphics for scheduling and managing your social media outlets to save you time and develop a brand following.

With over 380 million users, you can't afford to ignore LinkedIn as a powerful E-commerce tool. In this seminar, participants will learn how to create a compelling online presence that will attract customers. Learn the five most important things to do on LinkedIn so that you can be found. The seminar will discuss how to position yourself as an expert and how to increase visibility on LinkedIn. In addition, the seminar will teach how to:  1. Create a LinkedIn profile that stands out and positions you as an expert. 2. How to get 500 connections and expand your network. 3. How to stay in front of your audience and position yourself as an expert with status updates and LinkedIn publishing. 4. Harnessing LinkedIn groups to grow your visibility and establish your expertise. 5. Build your personal plan to quickly get results with LinkedIn in only 15 minutes, 2 days a week. Every business should have a Facebook page. Learn how to use your page to brand your business and engage your customers in the “Facebook Made Easy” seminar. Participants will learn:  how to start a page from scratch; how to schedule messages that save you time; how to automate your marketing and keep people on your page; and apps that integrate to make your business stand out.

Instagram is the “it” thing in social media. Find out how your business can benefit from this platform and grow sales online. Participants in the “Instagram Made Easy” seminar will learn:  how to start an Instagram page for your business; how to gain followers and keep them engaged daily; how to integrate Instagram into your current marketing plan; and apps that can be used to make your photos stand out and save you time.

If you are on social media, you know that it can be time consuming. You may often wonder what tools do I use and how do I put it all together? In the hands-on “Tools for Social Media” seminar, attendees will learn how to use multiple platforms to help create a consistent and connected social media presence.
