Sorrells, Stephenson exchange vows May 18
Rita Sue Sorrells and W. Charles Stephenson were united in marriage Saturday, May 18, 2013, at The Grove in Clyde. The Rev. Jason Ledford officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of J.C. "Junior" and June Sorrells and the late Maxine Sorrells of Clyde. She is a graduate of Pisgah High School and Haywood Community College. She is a retired employee from the Town of Canton.
The groom is the son of the late Harding Stephenson and the late Nell Henderson Stephenson of Clyde. He attended Clyde High School and is a retired employee from the Town of Canton.
The bride wore a Louvas lace and beaded vintage off-shoulder, A-line, satin and tulle ivory wedding gown.
Mike Ray served as an usher.
The flower “boys” were Jacob Sorrells, great nephew of the bride; and Bryce Stephenson, great-grandson of the groom.
Tobie and Megan Wyatt were in charge of the guest registry.
A reception was held at Oak Grove Baptist Church fellowship hall in Clyde. Music for the wedding was provided by pianist Betty Jean Parham.
Following the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stephenson honeymooned at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The couple now resides in Clyde.
