CANTON — A Tennessee teen wrecked his vehicle in an unusual way on Ferguson Street in Canton early Thursday morning.

Dennis Smathers, who lives on the street, said he awoke around 1:30 a.m. and noticed his street was filled with flashing lights of several emergency vehicles. When he went outside, he found a vehicle in a precarious position in his yard.

It appears the driver, 18-year-old Dominique Johnson, was speeding when he rounded a curve that sent him out of control.

Canton Police Chief Bryan Whitner said the investigation is still ongoing, but police believe the vehicle hit a porch, which sent his car spinning and landed on a guide wire.

Despite the car being in an almost vertical position hanging on the guide wire, Johnson was not injured. Two tow trucks were used to remove the vehicle and power was off to residences on the street until about 4:45 a.m.
