March 15 — Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans will be performing at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at Frog Level Brewing Company.

March 16 — The Herren House Bed & Breakfast in Waynesville will be serving Irish specials from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16. For more information, call 452-7837.

March 17 — The VFW in Waynesville will be holding a St. Patrick's Day party at 3 p.m. March 17 at 216 Miller St. Corn beef and cabbage, carrots, red skin potatoes, horseradish sauce, cornbread and desserts. Veterans eat free and all others pay $7 a plate. There will be a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. BYOB. Call 454-0463.

-       5 to 8 p.m. — Live Irish Music and $10 pasta dinner at the Renaissance Asheville hotel 1 Thomas Wolfe Plaza 828-252-8211

-       9 p.m. — Listen to traditional Irish trio, Chulrua at Jack of the Wood 828-252-5445

-       9 a.m. — the St. Patrick's Day 10K, presented by the Asheville Track. Call 828-259-9101 It starts and ends at the YMCA.

-       8:45/9 a.m. — 2014 Asheville Shamrock10K/5K at Asheville Catholic School, 12 Culvern St. For more information, visit www.http://gloryhoundevents.com/shamrock_run/.

-       12 p.m. to 8 p.m. — Tours of My Native Ireland (Ask how to qualify for a free pint!) 12 Battery park 828-281-1110

-       3 to 5 p.m. — Pulitzer prize-nominated local writer, David Hopes will be reading his authentic Irish poetry at Jack of the Wood 828-252-5445.

-       5 to 8 p.m. — Special Irish dinner at Jack of the Wood. 252-5445.

-       8 p.m. to2 a.m. — Jack of the Wood's Irish Ceili Night, hosted by WNCW's Martin Anderson: ceili- and set-dance lessons, step dancing, traditional Gaelic songs, poetry, local Celtic band Half Nine and Irish rock tunes (Boomtown Rats, Hothouse Flowers, etc.) spun by Anderson and Annmarie McConnell. 252-5445.
