WAYNESVILLE — Stanley Charles Henry, 90, of Ridgewood Drive, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at MedWest Hospital.
A native of Blount County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lyda Keeble Henry. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Iva Jones, and one brother, Max Henry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the 4th Calvary Reconnaissance Squadron; he was among the first troops to land on French soil on D-Day. There he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Stan received his bachelor of arts degree from Western Carolina University in business administration. He was owner of Stan Henry Auto Sales and following his retirement, he co-owned Waynesville Tractor Lawn and Saw. He was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church, ...
