Fabulous Friend, Father

MAGGIE VALLEY —  Stanley Swartz Applebaum,73, passed awayTuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at his residence.

A native of Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Yetta Schlomowitz Appelbaum.  For 40 years, he was an independent mover and also worked for Crete Van Lines as a driver.  Stanley had a passion for flying model airplanes and was a member of the Clyde Flying Club.  He was also a wonderful carpenter and builder.  Stanley had a tremendous love for his cats, Munchcan, Saki, Spunky, Muffin, Sphinx, Morris and Cleo.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shirley Appelbaum; two daughters, Lisa Appelbaum, of Stewart, Florida, and Carrie Winfield, and her husband, Scott, of Fort Lauderdale; one son, Michael Appelbaum; four stepdaughters, Debra Epard, of ...
