Haywood County Fair — All kinds of volunteer opportunities, Aug. 18-23

The Open Door — assistance in the dining room/kitchen, thrift shop, food pantry

Haywood Spay/Neuter — office, spay/neuter on-site transport help (loading, unloading assisting clients, prepping crates), and trap-neuter-return

American Youth Soccer Org — referees, line painters, concession stand

Haywood County Arts Council — Gallery 86, shifts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 to 5 p.m.

Sarges Animal Rescue — transport drivers, foster homes for cats & dogs, office help

Mountain Projects — receptionist, phone assurance program

Meals on Wheels — need to drivers to fill routes, need secretary for Friends

Haywood County Public Library — NEW — Giving Garden, assortment of jobs throughout the library

Circles of Hope — mentor, serve on committee, new program

Habitat For Humanity — needs help building houses, help at the Habitat Store

HRMC Hospice — help needed with a new program, Vet to Vet program

The Community Kitchen — looking for cooks, servers, assistance w/fundraiser

REACH — Hotline volunteers, Thrift store workers

Good Samaritan Clinic — needs front desk office help

Haywood Chamber Of Commerce — needs help working at the office

Star Ranch — help with health care for rescued horses

Haywood Regional Medical Center Auxiliary — front desk, patient escorts

Haywood Christian Ministries — receive donations of clothing and goods, four-hour shifts

The Great Laurels of Junaluska — assist with odd and ends projects for residents

Smoky MT. Health Care and Rehab Center — assists with activities

Big Brothers/Big Sisters — in need of Big Brothers and Sisters in the community and school programs

Friends of the Smokies — help with outreach programs

Bethel Rural Community Org. — man food bank pantry for needy, 2nd Wed monthly

Barium Springs — mentors for youth

Pigeon Community Development Center — transportation, assist children with reading and math

Guardian Ad Litem — advocates in the court system for children who are abused or neglected.

Haywood County TDA Visitor Centers — looking for assistance to man centers, greet people

Special Olympics — coaches and mentors

Foster Grandparents — help a pre-school or elementary-age child, stipend available if you meet guidelines

Haywood County Recs and Park — work in parks, help with programs

Haywood Waterways Assoc — Help clean up our streams

Mountain Mediation — mediate court and civil cases

Haywood Chamber of Commerce — person to man phones, greet customers

Pathways Thrift Store — process items, clerks

KARE — Light Reception, mornings, assists with Personal Safety Program

Healthy Haywood — partner to keep our County healthy

The ARC of Haywood County — facility maintenance & office work.

Autumn Care — Sit with a friend, teach a craft to the seniors

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program: If you are over 55 years of age, you can receive a limited amount of mileage coverage and supplementary insurance while you are volunteering.
