Waynesville — “Loving, caring person“
Waynesville — Steve Wyatt, Jr., 81, passed away on Oct. 17, 2013 at the Brian Center. He was born in Haywood County on July 22, 1932, to the late Steve, Sr. and Minta Mae Ruff Wyatt. Steve enjoyed playing jokes and pranks on friends and family. He had a fondness for children and was talented at painting pictures. Steve especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He retired from Lea Industries with 30 years of faithful service.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by three brothers, Horace, Lewis, and Luther; and four sisters, Betty Green, Mildred Lee, Eloise Crawford, and Kathleen Hightower.
Steve is survived by his wife of 19 years, Betty; stepson Tommy Conner (Cindy); two grandsons, Nathan and Joshua Conner; and one sister Margaret Moore (Jesse).
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart and Reverend Steve Rhinehart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
