WILMINGTON — Senior right-hander Chris Munnelly needed little help but still got it from the hot-hitting senior Cody Stubbs (Tuscola) Wednesday night as the No. 1-ranked North Carolina (26-2) defeated UNC Wilmington (21-9), 10-0.
Stubbs, who now leads the Tar Heels with a .406 average, finished with three hits, including his 11th double this season, in five trips to the plate and drove in a pair of runs.
The win gave Mike Fox his 1,200th career win and his 661st win at UNC.
Up next for Carolina is a visit from Maryland for an ACC series in Chapel Hill this weekend.
