The Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department will offer a summer camp for kids pre-K to seventh grade. The camp is tentatively set for 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 23 to Aug. 15.
There will be two groups with 20 each — pre-K through third grade and fourth grade through seventh grade.
Each day is an adventure. There will be games, movies, swim time in the pool, fishing and even a field trip to great natural resources in the area. Other activities include kayaking, hiking, bird and nature exploration, tubing, team building challenges, swim lessons and much more. Campers will need to bring a swimsuit, lunch, tennis shoes, water shoes, a towel and snacks.
This year there is a one time fee for the summer camp. The cost is $555 for members of the Waynesville Recreation Center; those who sign up on or before May 4 will save $30. The cost for non-members is $580; those who sign up on or before May 3 will save $20. Spots are limited.
The deadline to register is May 19. Registration will close once the groups fill up.
