Sunburst Trout receives $150,000 value-added grant
Sunburst Trout Farms has received the USDA Value Added Producers Grant. The award is a $150,000 matching funds grant for market expansion of their high end product, caviar, and lesser known product, trout jerky.
“We are blessed to have received this Value Added Producers Grant, and are looking forward to having the opportunity to further market and develop these unique products,” said Sunburst sales manager Wes Eason.
“This grant will help us to better serve our community and the state of North Carolina’s aquaculture industry,” said Anna Eason, marketing director. “Marketing these exclusive products to the high end chefs we see in our living rooms on cable food shows will show just how innovative North Carolinians really are!”
This is the second time Sunburst Trout Farms has received the USDA Value Added Producers Grant.
