The 18th Annual Taste of Chocolate benefit will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Maggie Valley Club, 1819 Country Club Drive, Maggie Valley. This event, sponsored by First Citizens Bank, will feature chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate to tantalize taste buds.
The event will feature bakers from professional, bed and breakfast, and amateur categories as well as non-chocolate and showcase items.
There will also be a silent auction with over 60 items; a milk fountain; wine bar; and entertainment by Ray Lyon on the piano. New this year — A live auction.
Proceeds from the Taste of Chocolate go to the Haywood Jackson Volunteer Center to assist in connecting volunteers in the community as well as helping people with Medicare through the SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program). Last year, SHIIP helped 576 people with Medicare save $255,175 in prescription costs.
Tickets are available at Quilters Quarters, Blue Ridge Books, Maggie Valley Club and the Haywood County Senior Resource Center at 81 Elmwood Way, Waynesville. Tickets cost $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
