Throughout the 2013 – 2014 school year, teachers from Haywood County Schools are recognized for their commitment and dedication to the students of Haywood County. This program is sponsored by Jack Bishop of Edward Jones and the Haywood County Schools Foundation.  Two teachers a month are honored from all 16 Haywood County Schools.

"Haywood County has outstanding teachers who often go unrecognized for their hard work," said Jenny Wood, executive director of the Haywood County Schools Foundation.

Stephanie Reinhardt from Meadowbrook Elementary School and Lisa Holland from North Canton Elementary School were recognized for Excellence in Education for the month of January.

Representatives from Edward Jones, the foundation and Dr. Anne Garrett, superintendent of Haywood County Schools, presented the teachers with a Certificate of Appreciation and a $100 check sponsored by Bishop.

"Teachers constantly spend their own money out of their own pocket to purchase supplies for their students," said Bishop. "Teachers shape the future of our young students and it is important that we as community partners support educators."
