Ted V. Clark
WAYNESVILLE — Ted Vernon Clark, 84, of the Bethel community, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at his residence.
A native and lifelong residence of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Herbert Vernon and Maud Warren Clark. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward and Charles Doice Clark; and three sisters, Edna Clark Rogers, Pearl Clark Henry Ward and Marie Clark Barrier.
Ted retired with 30 years service from Bellsouth Telephone Company as an installer. He was an active member and involved at Longs United Methodist Church. Ted enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to his apple orchard and his hobby of beekeeping. He was loved by all who knew him, especially by his family who remembers him as a wonderful, loving and attentive husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian Henson Clark; two sons, Larry W. Clark and wife, Nancy, of Fines Creek, and Terry J. Clark and wife, Teresa, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Christopher William Clark, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Brittany Annette Clark Crook and husband, Jesse, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Rennie Salata officiating. Burial will follow at Long’s Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
