Devoted Husband

CANTON —  Terry Joe Payne, 54, of Trammell Avenue, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Payne was born May 12, 1958, in Haywood County to the late Bonnie Payne. He had resided in Haywood County all of his life and had formerly been employed in the construction industry. Terry never met a stranger and his friendly smile will always be remembered by those blessed to know him. He was a wonderful cook and his homemade biscuits were a favorite of everyone.  Terry was a devoted husband, who loved his family deeply, and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. His kind spirit and his precious memory shall be forever cherished.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Payne.

Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy Griffin Payne; his children, Sarah, and her fiance', Michael, and Jason, and his wife, Angie; his grandchildren, Faythe, Scott, Savannah Angel, Savannah Nicole and Journi; many cousins and friends; and also his special cats, Smokey and Frosty.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Terry's life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 15,  at their home, 25 Trammell Ave., in Canton.
