The Fitness Connection welcomes new yoga teachers

The Fitness Connection, 60 S. Main St., Waynesville, has recently hired two highly qualified yoga instructors — Karen McGovern and Sara Lewis.

McGovern has been teaching fitness classes at the Waynesville Recreation Center since 2009. Her chair yoga class is perfect for those who want a gentle but thorough yoga stretch and are not comfortable getting onto the floor.

Additionally, McGovern will offer mat-based flow yoga on Mondays. This class is open to beginners or those with more experience.

Lewis has more than 10 years of yoga experience and is a 200-hour national Yoga Alliance-registered instructor as well as a certified holistic health coach.

She will offer a Thursday evening Slow Flow class. In this class, movement is synchronized with breath. Students will build strength, and increase flexibility and balance.

Starting in April, Lewis will offer this same class Tuesday mornings and will add a Restorative Yin Yoga class.

Kim May, certified in yoga as well as personal fitness training since 1987, offers a Hatha Yoga class on Mondays.
