The Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts in Historic Shelton House Seeks Operations Manager

In anticipation of the opening season and upcoming events, the Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts in Historic Shelton House Board is seeking an Operations Manager for the Museum. The time frame for employment is mid‐April – October, requiring from a few hours per week up to 35 hours per week. An interest in museum work, history, and conducting tours, along with adequate computer skills, is required.

The Museum, located at 49 Shelton Street in Waynesville, will be opening for the season on Wednesday, May 1. The organization’s Membership Appreciation Day will be on Saturday, May 11, 10 am – 6 pm. Several crafters from the Village of Yesteryear of the North Carolina State Fair will be demonstrating and selling their art pieces. There will also be refreshments and music in the afternoon.


The Board is also soliciting volunteers who are interested in participating in regular activities as well as special events. Docents who are able to serve routinely are especially needed.
