The Open Door Ministry in Waynesville received a generous grant from Peak Energy and BP (Fueling Communities Program). The money is going to be used to purchase infrared heaters as supplemental heating to help families alleviate the high cost of heating their homes this winter.
Perry Hines, director of The Open Door, expressed appreciation that a local business, like Peak Energy, would become involved in recognizing the need in the community and stepping forward to help.
"This will be the added boon that will help many of our families to get through the financial crisis that faces them this year." Hines said.
