The North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association Third Annual Disc Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place in Waynesville at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Waynesville Disc Golf Course located in front of the Waynesville Recreation Center.
This is a different format than the previous two tournaments. Participants must qualify at either Waynesville (Aug. 11), Black Mountain (completed), Fletcher (Sept. 8) or Mars Hill (Sept. 22) in order to participate in the championship at Richmond Hill in Asheville on Oct. 13.
There will be four divisions — Open, Co-ed, Youth and Recreational. This is a captain’s choice doubles tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams in each division.
The cost to pre-register will be $20 per player or $25 per player on the day of the event. Each team must consist of two players.
