Tickets on sale for WOW Halloween partyProceeds benefit REACH
On Saturday, Oct. 26 the women organization known as WOW, Women of Waynesville, will be hosting their second Annual Halloween Costume Party Fundraiser.
“Last year was a lot of fun and we were able to raise enough money to purchase five I-Heaters for local Haywood County families in need of heating assistance as well as gave away a three-day cruise to the Bahamas,” shares Nikki White, President of WOW.
The Nightmare on Frazier Street is going to be held at Bearwaters Brewery located at 130 Frazier Street, Waynesville. The event is being held as a fundraiser for the local REACH Program. REACH of Haywood County is a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency services to any person who has experienced domestic violence, sexual assault or elder abuse.
This will be the second fund raising effort that the Women of Waynesville have done for REACH, the first being the groups well known and controversial 12 month black and white semi-nude women’s calendars, which raised $1,500 for the REACH organization in 2012.
“These women are dynamic, full of positive energy and out of the box ideas. Working with them in the past as well as with them on this years’ Nightmare on Frazier Street is always easy, enjoyable and lots of fun,” states Julia Boyd-Freeman, Director of REACH.
The Women of Waynesville is an all women organization in Haywood County, and their mission is to provide an outlet for women in the community to join forces with one purpose and with the collective passion of supporting the needs of Waynesville, predominantly through innovative, diverse and inspirational ways of fund raising. To become a positive and active called upon support system for our local businesses and residents, and to bring to light the forgotten idea’s, issues and controversial methods of fund raising for a community.
“Our goal is to at least match our contribution of $1,500 that we gave to REACH in 2012, with hopes of exceeding that by quite a bit,” says Liz Hamilton, Treasurer of WOW.
So if you don’t have any plans yet for the evening of Saturday, Oct. 26, the Nightmare on Frazier Street is surely the place to be in Haywood County. Come join the Women of Waynesville and help them put keep the Fun in Fundraising.
