Tim Petrea Joins Staff at Waynesville Parks and Recreation

Tim Petrea has joined the staff at the Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department as Program Specialist. The former Athens, Georgia, resident will over see Special Olympics, youth camps, family recreation and many other programs.
"I am very excited about becoming a part of the Waynesville recreation family," Petrea said. He is a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association and enjoys competing in tournaments and was also a football and basketball high school referee in Georgia. He may be seen as an official in the future at high schools games in this area.
The staff at the Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department are equally excited about having Petrea on board and the future of programs in that area. "Tim comes to us with many years of experience in recreation," Director Rhett Langston, said. "This is very significant time in our department with the growth we're experiencing," Langston added.
Petrea graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Cultural and Natural Resource Management (Outdoor Recreation). He is also a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
