Tourism funding workshops set
Those planning to apply for funds from the Haywood County Tourism Development Authority for 1% grant subcommittees must attend one of the following meetings.
• 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14;
• 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16
Both workshops will be held at Lake Junaluska’s Harrell Center in room 2
Those interested in submitting an application, you must attend one of the two workshops for their application to be considered. Past attendance does not count. Important information will be provided to aid the application process and the HCTDA can answer any questions or concerns.

Grants are valid between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.
1% applications must be submitted to the appropriate designated subcommittee location by 5 p.m. Feb. 27.
Any applications received after the deadline will not be considered for funding.
TDA will notify grant applicants of subcommittee recommendations by March 21. Should a grant applicant choose to make an appeal of the Subcommittee recommendation, the applicant must contact the appropriate Subcommittee chairman to request an appeal no later than March 26.
The TDA Finance Committee will meet to review Subcommittee recommendations and determine grant recommendations to send to the TDA Board for consideration by April 15.
At the annual budget forum on April 16, HCTDA will consider requests for grants. The budget fForum meeting will be held at 3 p.m. at the Lake Junaluska Bethea Welcome Center.
The budget will be reviewed and adopted to include the approved grant request on April 23.
