TOWN OF WAYNESVILLE CITIZENS NEEDED TO SERVE ON PLANNING BOARD
The Town of Waynesville Planning Board currently has three (3) vacancies. Applicants interested in applying to serve in one of the vacant positions must reside within the corporate limits of Waynesville. The Planning Board serves as an advisory board to make studies of areas, prepare plans, develop policies, ordinances and administrative procedures, and make recommendations to the Board of Aldermen and/or Board of Adjustment. Regular meetings of the Planning Board are held on the third Monday evening of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Town of Waynesville Board Room located at 9 South Main Street in Waynesville.
Other boards and commissions of the Town of Waynesville include the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, Firemen’s Relief Fund Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, Public Art Commission, Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission and Waynesville Housing Authority.
Waynesville is making an effort to increase citizen involvement and applications are also accepted in advance of vacancies. When vacancies occur, those applicants will be contacted to verify interest and qualifications and recommendations for appointment will be presented to the Board of Aldermen for consideration.
