Traffic stop yields drug arrests

Two Bryson City residents face felony drug charges after police searched their car during a traffic stop Saturday.

Det. Shawn Gaddis with the Canton Police Department said a K9 from Waynesville Police Department alerted to the car driven by 18-year-old Anna Maria Postell and 32-year-old Chad Vincent Hodge as a passenger.

Police found drug paraphernalia including a pipe, spoons and baggies in the back floorboard of the car. They also found small amounts of marijuana, meth, Vicodin and Cloranzapen.

Both were charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, possession of meth, simple possession of schedule III and IV controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Postell was also charged with felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
