Trolley service available on Saturdays
On Saturdays, those looking for basic transportation in Waynesville, plus a bit of history to boot, can hop aboard the Waynesville Trolley, which runs a 45-minute loop between downtown, Frog Level and Hazelwood.
For $5 a day, shoppers and sightseers can enjoy sights such as historic homes, the Civil War Memorial commemorating the last shot fired in the Civil War near Sulphur Springs Road and learn about places to shop or events to visit. The trolley runs to Waynesville Golf Resort and Spa, and the Waynesville Historic Farmers Market has been added to the route. Other stops will be incorporated as needed, especially if Haas’ plan to add a second trolley materializes.
The trolley operates between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., said Tandi Haas, who is organizing the tours.
