CANTON — Troy Edward Hargrove, 75, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at MedWest Haywood.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Rufus Taft and Edna Justice Hargrove. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll and Fredrick Hargrove.

Troy was a 1955 graduate of Bethel High School and a graduate of Western Carolina University with a BS degree in business. Troy was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Champion International with 36 years of service as transportation supervisor. Following his retirement, he worked at Haywood County Research Station.
