The Tuscola High School Band Day will be Saturday, Sept.15. This annual event helps the band raise money toward their 2012 marching season and to help pay for their trip to Towson, Maryland, to participate in the Bands of America Regional Championship.

The band will be hosting car washes and hat collections around Waynesville beginning at 9 a.m., a large yard sale at 7 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street,  serving lunch at the church starting at 11 a.m., and culminating with a performance by the band on the courthouse steps at 2:30 p.m.

As part of band day a golf tournament will be held at Lake Junaluska Golf Course, with registration beginning at noon.  It will be a two-man captain's choice format, with cash prices and a two year lease on a 2012 Jeep Wrangler for a hole ...
