Tuscola Garden Club meets Nov. 20
The Tuscola Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20,at the Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska. Kerri Rayburn, administrative assistant for the Jackson County Extension Office will present her program “Lavender – Creative Uses for this Favorite Flower.”
Lavender has been used for centuries and across many cultures around the world to prevent and treat a broad range of health issues and to make life more pleasant generally. The essential oils from the plant are quickly absorbed by the skin or breathed in, and are beneficial as an antiseptic and disinfectant, a healing salve for wounds and skin rashes, an effective anxiety and depression reliever, and a healing agent for fevers, aches and pains.
