Lunch periods at Tuscola High School got messy Friday afternoon when Tuscola’s Relay for Life team held a Pie Day fundraiser in honor of national Pi Day, which is March 14.

During lunch, students could pay up to $5 to pie a teacher or administrator in the face. Foam plates were filled with whipped cream or shaving cream and then were handed out to students so they could choose which teacher they wanted to “pie.”

Cindy Shipman, who is in charge of Tuscola’s Relay for Life, said the Pie Day fundraiser had been going on for years, adding that she hoped to see even more funds raised this year.

By the end of the first lunch period, Tuscola’s team had raised more than $200.
