It will be a weekend filled with popular Disney music at Tuscola High School's 10th annual Broadway Show,

From "I Just Can't Wait to be King," to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," Chamber and Summit Choir members will be singing and dancing all the favorite tunes from the Lion King and other popular Disney movies.

The students chose the theme after a recent choral trip to Disney World inspired them, said senior Alex Swanger. They also knew their choral director, Fritzi Wise, loves Disney music.

"One of the reasons we're so driven is we havea great choral director who makes us feel like a family. She's always wanted to do a show like this and we knew it would make her really happy," said senior Mary Holland Fulghum.

With overwhelming talent, the show is sure to entertain.

"Everyone is just so excited. We love music and we love performing," said Swanger, adding that aside from the annual Country Western Show, she has always enjoyed the Broadway Show.

There will be several group numbers as well as solos and duets.

The show runs two nights starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. The $10 tickets include dessert, which will be served one hour prior to each show time.

Employees of Haywood County Schools only are invited watch the full dress rehearsal for half price on Friday, Feb. 8 (with employee i.d.).

Tickets are available by calling 456-2408 and asking for the choral department or you can purchase tickets from any member of the Chamber or Summit Choir. A raffle will be held during each show for items donated by local businesses.
