Tuscola wins overtime thriller
CANTON — The action, thrills, excitement and drama couldn't have been any better in the 49th County Clash at Memorial Stadium Friday night.
And the outcome had to be determine by the first-ever overtime period in the rivalry's history.
Tuscola made its field goal in OT and Pisgah's sailed wide left as the jubilant Mountaineers defeated the devastated Black Bears, 24-21.
Tuscola improved to 3-5 overall , 3-1 in the WNCAC and will host West Henderson next Friday at Weatherby Stadium. Pisgah sunk to 2-6 overall, 1-3 in the conference and the Black Bears will host North Henderson next Friday for their homecoming.
The Mountaineers, which have won five of the last six County Clashes, also raised their overall series lead over Pisgah to 26-22-1 in the state's greatest football rivalry.
