Tuscola's drawdown set for Saturday, July 26
Maybe it is a renewed enthusiasm generated since new football coach Tommy Pursley was hired, or maybe it’s just the tireless efforts of the Tuscola Athletic Boosters.
Whatever the reason, the Tuscola High School Athletic Booster Club’s Drawdown is set to kickoff Saturday night with a 6 p.m. dinner and the main event, which starts at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria and culminates with someone winning a $5,000 grand prize.
By all accounts and according to several booster club members, this drawdown may be the best in recent years.
And everyone knows the “best” means more dollars raised for its athletic programs.
“I am so excited about the way tickets sales have gone,” said longtime Tuscola supporter Doug McCracken. “This could be the best drawdown we’ve had in a long time. The Mountaineer fans and community have rallied and I think they are wanting to show the new coach they are supporting the athletic programs at Tuscola High School like they have never before. There are tickets available, but not a lot are left to sell. So anyone still wanting to get a ticket, eat a great meal and have a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize can call me at 550-2600. If there are any tickets left over we will be selling them at the door of the cafeteria, up to 7 p.m., just seconds before the drawdown begins.”
Tickets are $100 and include a steak dinner (chicken is available upon request) for two. Included in the event will be door prizes, an auction, a 50/50 split raffle and the grand prize of $5,000 to the last ticket remaining. There is also a second place prize of $1,000 and $500 for third place.
