The Asheville Police Department responded to a Thursday shooting in the parking lot of McDonald’s located at 401 Smokey Park Highway.

APD and paramedics located Joshua Wilson Early, 32, of Canton suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.  Early was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot when an altercation took place with the occupants of his vehicle and the occupants of another vehicle.

A Buncombe County Sheriff Deputy was on the property at the time of the shooting.  After he heard the shot he apprehended two of the three individuals at the scene.  A third individual fled the scene on foot and was apprehended a short time later by another Buncombe County deputy.
