Tye Blanton Foundation cocoa, cornhole tournament is Feb. 9

There will be a cornhole tournament to benefit the Tye Blanton Foundation Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Canton Armory, 71 Penland St. in Canton. The tournament begins at noon.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the cost is $40 per team.  There will be two divisions — doubles and women’s doubles. Prizes for the main doubles division will be, first place — $350; second place — $250; third place —$100. Women’s doubles prizes include gift certificates and gift baskets and sets.

This is a double elimination tournament.  Bags will be available but players may use their own bags. as well. There will have food and beverages for sale, along with Tye Blanton Foundation merchandise available for purchase.  This event is held indoors at the armory. The Tye Blanton Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded to provide support to the babies and families in the NICU at Mission Hospital and also works in close affiliation with the American Red Cross (hosting quarterly blood drives), March of Dimes (hosting March for Babies walk and working with the annual gala and other events) and the Mission Children’s Hospital Radiothon.
