U.S. flag retirement ceremony is April 6

Waynesville VFW Post 5202 will conduct its ceremonial U.S. flag retirement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the post, 216 Miller St.

The U.S. Flag Code states, "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."


This event is open to the public. If anyone has a flag that needs to be disposed of, they are asked to drop it off at the post. For additional information, call 456-9346.
