On Friday evening, October 5, 2012, the Celtic Rock sensation, Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans will perform from 7-10pm on the Classic Wineseller’s outdoor bandstand located at 20 Church Street, Waynesville. The concert is FREE with a minimum $10 per person food and drink purchase from Angelino’s Piattino Ristorante at the Classic Wineseller.

Led by Shawn Dunham (Uncle Hamish) on bass, guitar, mandolin, and vocals, he’ll be joined by the Hooligans: Connell Sanderson, bagpipe, flute and whistle; Chip Smith, keyboard and vocals; John Barden, guitar and vocals; and, Brett Maney, drums. The band was formed out of the desire to escape the limitations of the music in which each member was involved. Each man had an overwhelming need to be part of a band that was truly different and special.

Influenced by such ground-breaking bands as Seven Nations and Enter the Haggis, the group set out to play Celtic music influenced by members’ personal tastes. The band’s music has sounds ranging from Toto to Genesis, and all points in between. Stir in the haunting sounds of traditional Celtic instruments such as the Highland bagpipes, whistles, flute, mandolin and instruments of the like, and you have Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans.
