As the 25th anniversary of an unsolved Haywood County homicide nears, detectives with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division want to remind the public of the case, with hopes someone may step forward with information.

Detectives are seeking contact information for those who knew or worked alongside a man who was killed in Haywood County in 1991.

On Oct. 22, 1991, the proprietor of the Covered Wagon Motel on Dellwood Road discovered the body of 48-year-old Thomas "Homer" Wesley Harden, of Augusta, Georgia.

Harden was a BE&K construction worker, who had been staying in the motel for a month before his death. At some point during his stay, Harden shared the motel room with two other men as they worked on rotating shifts.

If you have any information related to this case or those mentioned above, contact Capt. Bruce Warren at 356-2904.
