Upset-minded Tuscola heads to Asheville
In 1992, the Tuscola Mountaineer football team marched into Asheville Memorial Stadium and handed a Cougar team that included future University of Tennessee and St. Louis Rams standout Leonard Little a surprising 12-0 defeat.
Now, 20 years later, the 2012 Mountaineers are hoping that they can put together a little bit of their own magic tonight and win at Asheville Memorial Stadium for the first time since 1996.
Over the last 15 years, the Mountaineers have only defeated the Cougars once (2008 regular season), tied them once (2009), and have dropped the rest (including playoff games in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2010). Asheville holds a 28-12-1 advantage in the all-time series.
