WAYNESVILLE — Valdyne Shankle, 80, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at her residence.

Valdyne was a native of Mineola, Texas. She had resided in Haywood County for the past 10 years. She was the daughter of the late Robert Allman and Margaret Grace Brown Fouse.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Shankle, who passed away in June of 2010.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Norris, of Waynesville.
